Director of Aquaforum, Professor at Berne University of Applied Sciences

He obtained a bio-engineering degree in agricultural sciences from Ghent University (Belgium) in 2001 and an Executive Master in Business and Administration from HEC Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2016.Thomas has been working in the aquaculture sector for over 20 years. After working for a nutrition research centre in Italy, he managed large hatcheries and farms producing cod in Scotland and Norway, sole in Spain and perch in Switzerland. He has extensive experience of fish production and water recirculation system technology, and has designed production units.

Since 2016, as Director of the Aquaforum Competence Centre and Professor of Aquaculture at Bern University of Applied Sciences, he has developed several training courses and works on research projects with Swiss industry partners.

Thomas also carries out consultancy work, helping companies to start up and optimise their fish farming production.
