Semira Gonseth Nusslé
"Ask yourself about entrepreneurship, consider this career opportunity. Imagine it’s possible, it’s feasible, and it might be right for you. Sometimes the strongest barriers are the ones you put up to yourself."
A graduate of the University of Lausanne (FBM 2006), Semira is a medical doctor by training, specialist in public health and preventive medicine (FMH board certified) and a researcher in epigenetics (UNIL, UCSF, UCB).
Semira founded her startup GenKnowMe during her 4-year post-doctoral stay at the University of California San Francisco and Berkeley, where she investigated the epigenetic links between cancer and lifestyle factors. She is currently an executive in Unisanté (cheffe de clinique), an academic institution formerly within the CHUV.
Her vision for the future of public health includes genetics and epigenetics to monitor environmental exposures and disease risks.
