A graduate of the University and HEP Lausanne, Katia Soos is the director of Deekay. Deekay Dance, the first urban dance school in Lausanne, was founded in 2010, and Deekay Athletics, which specialises in sports coaching, came into being in 2020. In 13 years, Katia has worked tirelessly in a variety of roles, including manager, accountant, secretary, sports coach and dance teacher at Deekay, teacher at ES Renens and student at the University of Lausanne in Sports Science & English. Since 2021, she has been fully dedicated to the management and running of Deekay Dance & Athletics.
Introverted and sensitive by nature, Katia found in hip-hop culture a way of expressing herself through the body and values with which she immediately connected. Dance, which requires discipline and creativity, has helped her in her personal development as well as developing her entrepreneurial spirit. She then wanted to share this passion so that other people could benefit from the mental and physical health benefits of dance. At the same time, Deekay Athletics focuses on physical preparation for dancers and personalised coaching. In total, Deekay now has over 350 members.
