Roomieswap: first student pilot project supported by the CIVIS alliance

26.06.24

Congratulations to Roomieswap, selected as the first student project supported by the CIVIS alliance. For one afternoon, the HUB hosted the CIVIS alliance's Student Council, the voice of students enrolled at the 11 member universities. All CIVIS member universities were represented by 22 students, including 4 from UNIL.

Roomieswap is a student project from phase 2 of the UCreate program and led by Simon Kurmann and Leila Fidalgo. This project attracted a great deal of interest from CIVIS representatives. The alliance hopes to work to develop and promote the platform on a European scale. This project is one of the first pilot projects of the CIVIS "student led-projects" initiative.

Congratulations to this project, which aims to offer a travel alternative to students wishing to travel on a limited budget, by promoting the empty apartments of exchange students or students returning to their families during the university vacations.
