Take part in the international Map the System competition and represent UNIL at the University of Oxford! Registrations are open until March 8, 2026.
Are you a student at UNIL with a strong passion for a social or environmental issue? Map the System gives you the opportunity to explore it in depth while developing practical skills and expanding your network.
Organized in partnership with the University of Oxford, this international competition aims to train a new generation of decision-makers capable of understanding and transforming failing systems.
Between March and May 2026, embark on this unique journey—alone or in a team—and present your analysis to a panel of experts.
💡 Why participate ?
- Develop your skills: Learn how to use systems thinking to analyze societal challenges.
- Meet experts: Expand your network through workshops, coaching sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Travel to Oxford: The winning team will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the University of Oxford to compete in the international final in July 2026.
🛠️ How does it work ?
- Register as an individual or a team before March 8, 2026.
- Access online modules: Explore six dedicated modules to guide your analysis using systems thinking.
- Attend a launch workshop mid-March: Receive personalized support from the HUB Entrepreneurship and Innovation team.
- Present your project to a UNIL jury: They will determine the winning team that will represent Unil at Oxford.
- Compete in the international final in Oxford: The selected team will travel to Oxford in July 2026, all expenses covered, to present their work and compete against the best teams from around the world.
🏆 The international final in Oxford
In July 2026, the top teams from around the world will gather in Oxford to showcase their projects, attend workshops, and participate in networking events. A total of £12,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.
